Drilling

SUMMARY OF 'GAP ZONE' TARGETED DIAMOND DRILLING IN 2008

GAP ZONE DRILLING 2008 (0.69 Mb)

Drill Holes MS399-MS452 were completed from the 9L (~278m U/G) from two areas. A series of three (3) drill-holes have also been drilled from the 10L near the plat of that level. At the north of the 9L further resource drilling via a downward radial fan is planned (shown in this PDF):

The completed radial up-drilling fan at 9L(north) is depicted here:

Past Drilling Program Overview - 2007

Diamond Drilling programs at the Woods Point Gold Project were completed with two major areas in focus initially.

1. The 'Gap Zone' within the Morning Star mine, where a series of short fan drilled 'BQ' diamond drill holes from the 9L (~278m underground), probed an area partially developed but never mined by WMC was very successful in deliniating an economic resource at Kenny Reef. This area is also known as the 7 Sub-Level and WMC grab samples have run between 2-4ozs to the ton historically. Morning Star estimates after recent Channel Sampling and observing historical drill intersections and sampling data in our 3D model, that the area is a highly prospective economic ore target for processing once developed. The initial drill holes concentrated on area of the 7 Sub-Level comprising dyke and quartz reef with the approximate dimensions of 200 metres X 60 metres (open along strike). The underground resource definition program drilled over 5,100 metres initially.

Two MCO owned air driven 'Kempe' rigs with a drill capacity up to 200m were used. The Kempes operated from Drill Cuddies approximately 300m apart along the 9L drive - one 50m from the northernmost 9L drive extension and one closer to the 9L plat and main shaft. The program of fan-drilling increased the knowledge and resource definition in the upper Gap Zone enormously. Down-dip holes have been planned after the success for the upward fans.

The PDF diagram herewith depicts the 2007 Diamond Drill holes in the upper Gap Zone from 9L North where an extension of the rich (unmined) 7 Sub-Level was a primary target and is now earmarked for development. The diagram depicts in scale the elevation & length of drill-holes MS399-MS404, quartz intersection widths, dyke & sediment intercepts.

2. 'Morning Star South' is a dyke recently discovered to outcrop just beyond the southernmost workings of the Morning Star mine. A surface 'HQ' diamond drilling program of 7 holes was completed in Q4 2007. All seven holes (MS366,367,368,369,370, 371 & 371A) intersected dyke and zones of shearing, veining and brecciation have been observed between 70 metres and 152 metres below surface. It is considered that the dyke is more akin to the Comet Dyke in structure and geology and this was reported on in the Dec 2007 Exploration Report.
